It's like... [performance] (2002)

An enclave. A square of transparent screens inside of which is another square of screens. The public surrounds this space. Four different perspectives.
Three dancers are moving within this constrained space: inside, between and outside of it. They have no rest area, always facing someone. Intensity. Density. Voyeurism?
The choreography plays of all the possibilities of foreground, background, veiled, revealed.
The face and voice of an actress are present via an Internet connection. She is somewhere else. She tells us in ludic tones what she sees around here, from her window, from the city, from Paris ? New York ? Brussels ?

The piece deals with the relation that can exist between body and city, movements in relation with walls, corridors, windows. The illusion of communication and the contradictions of visibility are the main lines in this metaphor for urban life.        

" It' s like. " is freely inspired by the book « The invisible cities » of Italo Calvino and a baroque canto « Lettre of Heleazaria Heb. to the Emperor Titus Vespasien » extracted the " Harmonic Poem " of Bellerofonte Castaldi.
